  1. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

The personal data you provide to us, whether directly or indirectly, will depend on how you interact with us and the Platform. Broadly speaking, this personal data is classified into the following categories:

 Information you provide to us :

We collect personal information directly from you when you choose to provide it using the Platform and through other interactions with us, such as when you file a claim. You will be asked to provide personal data in certain parts of the Platform in order to set up and use them as a Buyer or Seller.

If you are a Buyer , we will ask you to provide us with the following personal information:

If you are a Seller (i.e., if you are an employee or representative of a Seller or an individual Seller, in which case we refer to you as “Seller”) , we will ask you to provide us with:

For example, your name, address, telephone number, fax number and email address.

Information about social networks

If you are a certified blogger or influencer who collaborates with us, data such as your contact information and your social media or blog account information.

Information obtained through questionnaires

For example, any responses to questionnaires for market research or analysis in which you choose to participate, which may include information about your marital status, nationality, gender, date of birth, annual income and spending preferences.

In some circumstances, this may include or constitute information that is considered more sensitive. If you choose not to provide such information, your use of our services and products will not be affected.

Information regarding communications

For example, communications with customer service, chat service, telephone or email.

Information we collect indirectly :

If you are a Buyer or Seller, existing or potential, we will collect personal information indirectly from your device when you use our Platform, including through automated means. Some of the information we collect indirectly is obtained through cookies and other tracking technologies, as explained further below in section F “COOKIES”. We collect the following personal data indirectly:

For example, data on the types and specifications of products sold and purchased, pricing and delivery information, dispute records, communications between Buyers and Sellers, as well as any information disclosed in discussion forums.

For example, information relating to how you use and interact with the Platform, including IP addresses, date and time of access to the Platform, device type, unique device identification numbers, browser type, general geographic location (e.g., country or city), browsing patterns, and data about your interactions with our Platform and the products and services available on it. Additionally, we collect information about the Platform and its visitors, such as browser type, operating system, software and hardware attributes, pages viewed, number of sessions, and unique visitors.

Derived information

Such as information we obtain or infer about you based on your browsing and purchasing activity, as well as other data we have collected about you.

Social media content

If you are a certified blogger or influencer who collaborates with us, the aliases of your social media accounts and your posts or comments related to the Platform.

Platform Contacts

For example, people or accounts you share content or interact with, and contact information if you choose to upload or import content from a device (such as an address book).

 

Information we receive from third parties :

If you are a Buyer or Seller, we may receive personal information about you from third parties, such as verification service providers and social media platforms where you choose to register to create an account on the Platform through a chosen social media account.

We will only collect personal data from third parties where we have verified that such third parties have your consent or are legally authorised or required to disclose your personal data to us. 

We collect the following personal data from the following categories of third parties:

The information may vary depending on the social networks you use and the privacy settings you have set on your accounts, but will generally include basic public profile information such as your social network username, handle or account name; your profile picture on that social network; your country; and your company name (if applicable).

  1. USE OF PERSONAL DATA

We collect and use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • check Platform account records ,  including checks relating to fraud control, security, Know Your Customer processes and anti-money laundering measures to approve your Seller account;
  • verify your suitability  as a blogger or influencer of the Platform;
  • set up or manage Buyer and Seller accounts , including providing login IDs and setting up payment or trading accounts;
  • provide customer service,  such as responding to your queries and comments and handling complaints or disputes;
  • provide or support general Platform services , facilitate communication between Buyers and Sellers, process transactions and payments, assess Sellers' early withdrawal requests, and provide logistics and delivery services, as well as support Sellers with logistics and delivery;
  • provide assistance in customs declarations or requests for procedures by the Buyer or the Seller  when carried out through the Platform;
  • provide relevant benefits to members , such as birthday rewards, member offers and coupons, anniversary prizes and exclusive member pricing;
  • verify your identity and your purchases in relation to product warranty or other after-sales claims ;
  • assess and monitor the security of accounts and risks of  Buyers' and Sellers' operations, such as fraud detection and prevention measures, money laundering and other security incidents;
  • send and provide personalized advertising and marketing material that we believe may be of interest to you , based on your use of the Platform, your browsing logs and your order history  (we may use cookies  and other similar technologies to provide you with advertising and marketing content based on your browsing activities and interests; for more information, see section F. “COOKIES” below).
  • conduct research and analysis to ensure the security of our Platform , improve its content and design, and the products and services it offers; and

We may also use your personal data for other purposes that are compatible with the purposes we have communicated to you, provided this is permitted by applicable data protection law. You can request further information about compatibility with those other purposes. 

  1. C. CONSERVATION

We will retain your personal data for as long as we have a legitimate need to do so, for example to provide you with services or products or as required or permitted by applicable law. The retention period for your personal data will also depend on how you use our Platform (for example, whether you are logged in as a member or visiting our Platform as a guest) and for what purposes the information you provide to us is used.

In certain circumstances, we will need to retain your data for legal reasons after our contractual relationship has ended. For example, if you are a registered member, we will retain certain data for a period of time after your account is terminated or deleted, in order to comply with applicable law (for example, if we receive a court order relating to your account, we would retain the relevant data for longer than the usual retention period when an account is deleted) or in the event of disputes. In other cases, the retention period may be determined based on your activity on the Platform, to comply with a specific arbitration period, or to resolve a dispute.

When we no longer have a legitimate need or legal basis to process your personal data, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal data has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal data and keep it free from any further processing until deletion is possible.

  1. COOKIES 

This section describes how we use cookies and similar technologies (collectively, “ cookies ”)  to recognise you when you visit our Platform. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to configure them.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a string of information that is sent to your browser and stored on your computer or mobile device's hard drive. If you do not disable or delete the cookie, each time you use the same browser or device to access the Platform, our web servers will be informed of your visit to the Platform and ,  in turn ,  we may be aware of your visit and your usage habits.

Cookies set by the owner of the site or application are called “ first-party cookies ”. Cookies set by parties other than the owner of the site or application are called “ third-party cookies ”. Third-party cookies allow third-party features or functionality to be offered on or through the website (for example, advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your device both when you visit the website in question and when you visit other websites.

Cookies are also categorized as “ session cookies ” (which are deleted once you close your browser or turn off your device) and “ persistent cookies ” (which remain even after you close your browser or turn off your device or application and are activated each time you visit the Platform). Session cookies use encrypted data to authenticate you. Persistent cookies do not store account numbers or passwords. We use both session and persistent cookies.

Why do we use cookies?

We use our own and third-party cookies for several reasons.

Some cookies are necessary for technical or security reasons for our Platform to function, and we refer to these as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies. First-party cookies are mainly used to enable the basic functioning of our Platform, including web analytics cookies, which help us understand how users use our websites and how we can improve their use. For example, we use essential or strictly necessary cookies that allow us to remember the products added to your shopping cart and recognize you when you log in to your account.

We also use social media cookies. You may register to become a member of the Platform and “share” content from the Platform through social media such as Facebook and X. We sometimes embed videos from websites such as YouTube. These websites have their own privacy policies governing their use of information, which you can review on their respective websites.

We also use cookies that allow us to track and target the interests of Platform visitors to enhance their experience by analyzing visiting patterns and performing interest-based advertising activities; help our partners track users' visits to the Platforms; and track the progress and participation in promotions and the success of our email marketing campaigns. We use our own and third-party cookies for these purposes.

  1. SECURITY MEASURES 

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access to the Site, preserve data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of the information we hold. As soon as we become aware of a data security breach, we will notify you and the regulatory authorities in accordance with the timeframes and scope required by applicable data protection laws.

For registered users of the Platform, some of your information can be viewed and edited through your account, which is protected by a password. It is your responsibility to keep your password secure and confidential, and you must not disclose it to anyone. We have instructed our staff to never ask you for your password. If you share a computer with other people, you should not save your login information (e.g. username and password) on that computer. Always remember to log out of your account and close your browser window when you are finished with your session.

No data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, although we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold about you, we cannot guarantee the security of any data you transmit over the Internet.

Legal basis for data processing

We process personal data for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Our legal grounds for processing your personal data will depend on the personal data concerned and the specific context in which we collect it, but will be based on one of the following legal grounds:

  • Compliance with a legal obligation:There are cases in which we must process and retain your personal data, as it is necessary to comply with legal obligations (for example, to comply with applicable accounting regulations or to collaborate with law enforcement);
  • Consent:In certain circumstances, we may ask for your consent (outside any contract between us) before we collect, use or disclose your personal data, in which case you may voluntarily choose to give or deny your consent without negative consequences for you.

 

If we ask you to provide personal data to comply with a legal requirement or to enter into a contract with you, we will indicate this at the relevant time and inform you whether providing your personal data is mandatory or not (and of the possible consequences if you choose not to provide your personal data). In some cases, we may ask you to provide your personal data which will be processed as described above, so that we can provide you with all our services and so that you can use all the features of our Platform.
